What is Pet Turf?

Pet Turf is a synthetic grass that is made specifically for pets. It is durable, comfortable, and safe for your animal. Pet-friendly artificial grass differs from artificial grass turf since its blades are softer and shorter. Shorter and softer blades create a more comfortable experience for your pet since they will spend a lot of time on it. The blades are also made to resist fading from the sun and staining from pet waste.

The Benefits of Installing Pet Turf

Installing Artificial Grass for pets is an excellent option to your yard in Dallas and other Texas cities.
Find out what makes the difference after installing Artificial Turf for your pet.

1- Easy Maintenance

Like Artificial Grass,  pet turf is relatively easy to maintain. Pet turf doesn’t require fertilizer, watering, or trimmings. Maintenance for fake grass for dogs is as easy as sweeping debris and occasionally hosing it down to remove any dirt or waste.

2- Comfortable For Your Pet’s Paws

Pet-friendly turf has slightly flatter curved blades that are more comfortable for your furry friends to walk on than other artificial turfs.

3- Non-Toxic

Pet turf is made of non-toxic materials, so you don’t have to worry about your pets eating the grass. Most importantly, Synthetic pet-friendly grass doesn’t contain harmful chemicals.

4- Natural Feel

Pet-friendly artificial turf looks and feels like natural grass. It’s soft to the touch and has a realistic look, so your backyard will still have that natural appeal.

5- Clean Environment

No more dealing with muddy paw prints inside your house! Pet turf creates a clean environment for your pets while also saving you time and energy cleaning up after them.

6- It Doesn’t Attract Bugs and Insects

Since pet-friendly turf is made of synthetic materials, it doesn’t attract bugs and insects. This means you won’t have to worry about your pets being bothered by pesky mosquitoes or other insects. You also don’t have to worry about using pesticides and herbicides

Pet Turf Installation Process

Our turf installation follows a five-step process that ensures we create a clean, well-drained artificial turf that your dog will love.

Process of Pet Turf Installation

Step 1: Removal of Grass and Weeds

The first step is to remove the grass and weeds in the area where you’ll be installing pet turf. This can be done by hand or with a power sod cutter.

Step 2: Edging and Weed Fabric Installation

Once the grass and weeds have been removed, we edge the area and install weed fabric to prevent future growth.

Step 3: Base Preparation

Base preparation entails removing 2-3 inches of soil from the site. We then add 3-4 inches of gravel and compact it. This provides a solid foundation and helps with drainage. Our team grades the base layer away from your house to ensure water doesn’t stagnate on your turf. We also install a drain core to accelerate water movement beneath the turf.

Step 4: Pet Turf Installation

With the base layer prepared, our team moves to lay down the pet-friendly Artificial Grass Dallas. We start by unrolling and stretching the turf to avoid wrinkles or creases. Once the turf is in place, we secure it with nails or staples to a frame.

Step 5: Adding Turf Infills

The final step is to add turf infills. This helps protect the blades of grass, maintains the structure of the turf, and provides a soft surface for your pets. We mainly use pet-friendly, non-toxic, non-absorbent antibacterial synthetic soil as our turf infill. This turf infill helps prevent bacteria and keeps the pet-friendly artificial grass sanitary for your dog.

What to Consider When Choosing Pet Turf

The success of your artificial pet turf depends on your installation and the quality of the artificial grass you choose. Here are some factors to consider when selecting fake grass for dogs.

Material

When choosing artificial grass for pets, go for the one that mimics natural grass the most. It should be made of soft turf material and should have increased UV resiliency.

Face Weight

The face weight is the number of fibers per square yard and is an indicator of turf density. The higher the number, the more durable and softer the turf.

Pile Height

Pile height is how tall the grass blades are. A good quality pet-friendly artificial grass should have a pile height of around 22 mm (0.8 in.)- 30 mm (1.2 in.). This is long enough to provide a soft surface for your pet and short enough to avoid matting.
